About

Autobiography by Churchill's favourite Air Commander in WW2.

Describes the lead up to his central role in resolving the crisis which beset Western Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East between 1939-45.

Arthur Tedder signed (on behalf of Dwight Eisenhower) the formal documents which represented the unconditional surrender of The Third Reich of Germany on 8th May 1945. From quite early in the war, Arthur Tedder had been a rising star in the RAF.

This personal account of these challenging and difficult years brings us very close to understanding the man who increasingly found himself at the helm and the nerve-centre of the command structure during the Second World War.

Includes monochrome images. drawings and graphs.
