About

The author was a bomber and fighter pilot for Franco from the beginning to the end of the Spanish Civil War.

He had the absolute conviction that we were fighting to prevent the total destruction of our Catholic father and national traditions. In his Fiat fighter he was involved in nearly every major battle of the war, chalking up 278 missions.

He tells the whole story of the war, from the siege of the Alcazar of Toledo to the bitter battle of the Ebro, where the casualties of the 13th Nationalist Division alone included 76 percent of the officers and 60 percent of the troops. This is one of the few first-hand accounts of the Civil War.
